D.A.A.T.T.C. – ARS, Karimnagar organised “8 th Foundation Day Celebrations of PJTSAU and Farmers Scientists Interaction Meeting on HDPS in Cotton” on 03-09-2022 at Rajanna Sircilla District

D.A.A.T.T. Centre – ARS, Karimnagar organized Farmers Scientists Interaction Meeting on High Density Planting System (HDPS) in Cotton on the occasion of 8th Foundation Day Celebrations of PJTSAU at Rythuvedika, Shatrajpalli village of Vemulawada Urban mandal in Rajanna Sircilla District. Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) & Coordinator welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dais and explained the main purpose of this program to the farmers and briefed about the achievements of the university after the formation of Telangana state. The chief guest of this programme Dr. V. Thirumal Rao garu addressed the gathering on best management practices to be followed in HDPS Cotton. He said that due to the heavy and continuous rainfall during the July and August months, the uneven growth was noticed in cotton crop. The farmers were informed to spray Mepiquat Chloride 1.0 ml per liter of water based on the height and canopy of the crop but on the days after sowing in the present conditions and also said that this helps in controlling the vegetative growth of the plant and improves weight of the bolls. Later the guest of honour, District Agricultural Officer, Rajanna Siricilla District Sri. Ranadheer explained about the importance and benefits of HDPS technology in cotton and also stressed the farmers should follow the suggestions of scientists to get higher yields in the crops. Later Dr. M. Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) explained about the pest and disease management in cotton and also other major crops in the district. DAATTC, Scientists emphasized the farmers to get subscribe to PJTSAU You Tube channel for latest updates in agriculture technologies and also encouraged to utilize the Kisan Sarathi Toll free number 14426 or 1800 123 2175 for obtaining information on activities related to Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry and fisheries. Later felicitated the best farmer Sri. Puli Laxmipathi, Sthambapalli village of Boinpalli mandal in Rajanna Siricilla District on the occasion of PJTSAU 8th foundation day celebrations. Saleem, Rythu Bandhu Samithi Coordinator, Shatrapalli- Sri. Suddala Balaiah, Nuzuveedu Seeds Limited Sales Officer- Mr. Ramu, Area Manager-Mr. Raaju, RAWEP students (10 number) and around 50 farmers participated in the programme.
