The Agricultural Education Day is celebrated on 3rd December every year across the country to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first Agriculture Minister of the country and First President of Independent India. The NSS wing of College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad celebrated the event with the aim of developing the interest in agriculture and allied sciences among the students of Zilla Parishad High School, the adopted village Gudur, Kothur mandal, Rangareddy district. The programme is graced by Sri Sathaiah garu, the village surpanch, explained on the need of education in agriculture to the students for providing a healthy and sustainable livelihood. Later Sri Chandrashekar garu, the Head master of ZPHS stressed that agricultural education will help the students who can guide the farmers about weather, new crop varieties, resource conserving cultivation practices as well as farm machinery. NSS team conducted elocution and debate competitions, the winners of the events are awarded with certificates and prizes. The village surpanch, HM, Staff and students of ZPHS participated actively in the programme.
