Awareness programme on Vertebrate Pest Management in adopted village, rallapeta on 28.02.2023

Village adoption committee of Agricultural College, Sircilla has organized awareness programme on “vertebrate pest management” at adopted village,Rallapeta, Thangallapally (M) on 28.02.2023 to create awareness on management of pests like Wild boars, Monkeys, Bird and Rodents. Programme had started with welcome address by Dr. V. Bharathi, Professor (Pl.Path). Dr. V. Ravinder Reddy, Head, AINP (All India Network Project) on Vertebrate Pest Management (VPM) explained practices of vertebrate management that ensure the safety of wild life. He also demonstrated the usage ofAgri solar, Bio acoustic, monkey gunetc, the most effective and economical instruments developed by PJTSAU. Later Dr. I. ArunaSree, Scientist (Ento.) AINP-VPM briefed the technologies for rodent management which is a major menaceof Rallapeta village. She also mentioned that, community based management is very effective practice for controlling of rodents. In this programme, village adoption committee members Dr. R. Sathish, Dr. P. Madhavi, AEO Chandra Prakash and farmers ofRallapeta and KasbeKatkoorhad participated.
