CA, R'Nagar-NSS Unit-A - Clean India Campaign and Swachh Bharat- Swachh Telangana on 19.10.2022

Inspired by Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi’s call for a ‘Swachh Bharat’ or ‘CleanIndia’ College of Agriculture, NSS unit, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad conducted “Swachh Bharat- Swachh Telangana” programme was also taken up on 19.10.2022 as a part of landmark initiative, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0. In line with the vision of the Prime Minister, SBM-U 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0 have been designed to realize the aspiration to make all our cities ‘Garbage Free’ and ‘Water Secure’. These flagship Missions signify a step forward in our march towards effectively addressing the challenges of rapidly urbanizing India and Hyderabad and will also help contribute towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. As a part of the NSS volunteers actively involved in cleaning the premises of College and Departments. This programme was graced by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, NSS P.O’s AELP directors, teaching and non-teaching staff and AELP students. Inspired by Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi’s call for a ‘Swachh Bharat’ or ‘CleanIndia’ College of Agriculture, NSS unit, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad conducted “Clean India Campaign” on 19.10.2022.As a part of this Associate Dean, HOD,s, teaching &Non teaching staff joined hands and took up brooms and garbage bags to clean up the neighbourhood in and around the college. The objectives of the Clean India programme are to organize cleaning of public spaces and households across all the districts of the country from 01st October to 31st October 2022, involve all segments of society, Government organizations including PRIs and Non- Government Organizations, to instil awareness and feeling of pride among citizens to keep their surroundings clean and waste free. Teaching, non-teaching staff and students along with Associate Dean, AELP directors, HOD’s gathered at College portico and took a pledge to strive for a clean India. This marked the formal launch of clean India Programme. Associate Dean addressed the students as well as staff regarding importance of making Clean India and also created awareness on effects of single-use plastic and urged to come forward with alternatives of SUP to usage of biodegradable material, and also ways of improving plastic waste management. Later Students started clean up waste accumulation in the roadside and corners of parking area, garden area and backyard of Dept. of Agronomy. The clean-up was also assisted by SBI bank staff for removing shrubs and bushes near the bank premises opposite to college. With the excitement and enthusiasm in abundance, it was in no time that the area transformed into a much cleaner and shining place where students hang out in the evenings. The NSS Unit of College organized a cleanliness rally in the college campus. Volunteers of NSS Unit participated in this rally and spread the message of cleanliness showcasing different Slogans like’ Cleanliness is Next to Godliness’, ‘ Clean India Green India’. Clean and healthy people make a prosperous Nation” This programme was graced by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, NSS P.O’s AELP directors, teaching and non-teaching staff and AELP students.
