College of Food Science and Technology, Rudur, organized a Two-day training programme on “Value addition to cereals, millets, and legumes” to the womens of adopted village Hegdoli on 24-09-2021 and 25-09-2021

A two-day training programme on “Value Addition to Cereals, millets and legumes” was conducted to the womens of adopted village Hegdoli, Kotagiri Mandal, Nizamabad District, on 24th and 25th September 2021 in College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur. About 25 womens participated in the training programme. A group discussion on importance of millets was held to create awareness among the participants on health and nutrition benefits of millets. On 24-0-2021, demonstration of cake, cookies and bun was done on the first day by Mrs. P. Srilatha, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Process Technology, explaining the role of each ingredient and mixing techniques. On 25-09-2021, demonstration of iron rich products, i.e. groundnut chiki, sesame laddu, granular bar, and value added products of millets, i.e. multigrain ata and ragi malt, was done by Mrs. Prashanthi Meda, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, trained the participants in making. During valedictory, Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean, College of Food Science and Technology, distributed samples of iron rich ground nut chiki, sesame laddu, and granular bar were distributed to the participants. Village Adoption Programme In-charge, Dr. J. Saiprasad, Assistant Professor, and Mrs. Prashanthi Meda, Assistant Professor, Associate Dean, Dr. R. Swamy, and other staff members and students participated in the training programme.
