On the eve of 7th PJTSAU foundation day, a diagnostic field visit was conducted at adopted village, Sheriguda Bhadraipally village on 03.09.2021. The following scientists were participated in the programme.

• Ms. N. Jemimah, Scientist (Ento), AINP on Pesticide Residues, Rajendranagar
At the outset, Mr. Amabati Prabhakar, Sarpanch of the village welcomed the adopted village team consisting of Scientists from Rice Research Centre and AINP on Pesticide Residues. During the programme, the team of scientists along with farmers visited the cotton, paddy, tomato and bhendi crops in the village and identified the incidence of stem borer and leaf folder in paddy, leafhopper in cotton, Alternaria leaf spot in redgram, Alternaria leaf and stem blight and fruit borer in tomato and yellow vein mosaic virus in bhendi. Overall, the crops condition is good in the village except in tomato, where severe incidence of Alternaria leaf and stem blight was observed and suggested suitable control measures to the farmers. The team urged the farmers to take the suggestions / advices from the scientists of different disciplines on improved package of practices in different crops. It was also suggested the farmers to join in WhatsApp group on “Village Adoption – SB Pally” in order to stay connected and clear any doubts pertaining to crop production and management. The diagnostic field visit saw a gathering of around 20 farmers.
