INAUGURAL PROGRAMME ON “EMPOWERING WOMEN SELF HELP GROUPs (SHGs) ON DRONE PILOT TRAINING IN AGRICULTURE at PJTSAU Drone Academy, Rajendranagar on 10-01-2024

A seven days agri-drone pilot training program to the women self-help groups (SHGs) was started on 10.01.2024 at PJTSAU Drone Academy, Rajendranagar and this training programme was inaugurated by Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Registrar, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar. Recently, DGCA has given authorization for PJTSAU Drone Academy to conduct remote pilot training for rural youth / SHGs. A total of 15 SHGs members from Uttar Pradesh, 4 officials from Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL), and 3 ANMs from Primary Health Centers of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district have participated under "Namo Drone Didi Scheme". The training for SHGs and officials was sponsored by HURL, New Delhi, and 3 ANMs by AIIMS, Bibinagar. The pilot training focuses on theory classes on drone rules, protocols, Agriculture SOPs etc followed by one day of practice on simulation software, drone lab, and practical pilot training for 3 days at PJTSAU Sports Complex. During the inaugural programme, Dr. V. Ramulu, Principal Scientist (Res), DR office, Dr. N. Rama Gopala Varma, PS (Ento) and Nodal Officer (Drone), Dr. T. Kiran Babu, Scientist (Pl. Path.) & Accountable Manager, PJTSAU Drone Academy, Mr. Suraj Peddi, Co-founder, Marut Dronetech Pvt Ltd, teaching and non-teaching staff of Institute of Rice Research and Marut Drone Academy have participated.
