Online Training Programme on Promoting Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture at EEI, PJTSAU, Hyderabad
The valedictory programme of the online training programme on Promoting Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture among Field Level Women Extension Officers which started on 11-10-2021 was held on 14-10-2021 at EEI, PJTSAU, Hyderabad. 47 participants from the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh representing Agriculture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Forestry and Fisheries attended the programme. The valedictory programme was chaired by Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI who mentioned that dealing with the Nutritional deficiencies of family, community and nation at large are in the hands of women extension officers as they play a pivotal role in sensitising the rural communities. He also opined that concepts of Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture are new and are slowly making their positive impact on the Nutritional Profile of the nation and appealed to all the participant officers to be a part of the novel action plan. Expressing their impressions about the programme, the participant officers said that all the sessions were dealt with precision and expertise and that they have learnt many new concepts through this programme. They also said that they would definitely integrate these learnings in their job roles and take them forword. The programme was conducted and was coordinated by Dr. M. Preethi and Dr. P. Vijaya Lakshmi, Professors, EEI.
