The Department of Agricultural Extension, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar has organised a guest lecture on ‘’Entrepreneurship Development through PRISM” (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Startups and MSMEs) on 22.02.2022 at the college gallery hall. The speaker of the topic was Dr P Balasubramanian, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Extension, TNAU, Coimbatore. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr K Madhu Babu, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Extension, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. The Associate Dean Dr C Narendra Reddy has given introductory remarks and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship to the students of agriculture. He stressed that, the students should understand the importance of he entrepreneurship and try to be job providers rather than job seekers. On the occasion, he briefed about the various initiatives of the University in this pursuit. The guest speaker on the occasion, highlighted about the concepts such as entrepreneurship, agri-preneurship and various existing schemes to support individual Innovators which will enable to achieve the agenda of inclusive development with a focus on PRISM scheme and its operational guidelines and application procedure for the same. He has also highlighted about the thrust areas under PRISM scheme, the eligibility criteria, and guidelines for getting the grant under the scheme. On the occasion, he requested the students/research scholars to utilised the opportunity under PRISM scheme by the Government of India and excel in the future. The programme was attended by the faculty of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Research Scholars from Agricultural Extension, Economics and Agri Business Management of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar.
