Farmer - Scientist interaction meeting on formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) on 07-01-2022 at Veldurthi (V),Jagtial (M), Jagtial (D) in collaboration with “Seva Spoorthi Foundation – Jaikisan

  • Reginal Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial conducted “Farmer - Scientist interaction meeting on formation of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs)” to the adopted village farmers, Veldurthi on 07.01.22.
  • The programme was organized by Smt. Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Ag. Economics) and in-charge of adopted village. She briefed about the “Advantages and possibilities of formation of Farmer Producer Organisation” at Veldurthi.
  • Dr. M. Uma Devi, ADR, RARS, Polasa addressed the gathering by creating awareness on “Importance of Farmer Producer Organisations and its role in linking farmers to the markets” and urged the farmers to form into FPO.
  • G. Ratnakar, Project Manager of “Seva Spoorthi Foundation – Jaikisan”, an NGO explained about the “Activities of NGO viz., support to farmers, students and orphans and NGO role in formation of FPO viz., involvement and financial support in registration and providing trainings etc.”.
  • Praveen Goud, Sarpanch, Veldurthi explained about the agriculture scenario in the village to G. Ratnakar, Project Manager of Jaikisan.  In addition, farmers queries regarding the formation of FPO was also answered by team of scientists and G. Ratnakar.

  • As part of the programme, awareness was also created regarding “Cold management in paddy viz., selection of short duration varieties, soaking of seeds in water for 24 hours, giving irrigation in the evening and drain out of water in the morning and covering nursery with polythene sheets in the eveningby Dr. B. Laxmi Prasanna, Scientist (Pl. Breeding), Dr. Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology), and Dr. N. Balram Scientist (Pl. Pathology).
  • In this programme, Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Ag. Economics), Dr. B. Laxmi Prasanna, Scientist (Pl. Breeding), Dr. Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology), and Dr. N. Balram Scientist (Pl. Pathology), G. Ratnakar, Project Manager of “Seva Spoorthi Foundation – Jaikisan”, A.E.O. Hareesh and Ramya, Praveen Goud, Sarpanch, Veldurthi and 38 No. of farmers were participated.
