Field Day on “High density planting system in Cotton at Kuravi on 29-10-2022.

A field day on high density planting system (HDPS) in Cotton was organized jointly by Department of Agriculture, Mahabubabad and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal and Nuziveedu Seeds Pvt. Ltd., in the HDPS cotton field of Sri M. Venkat Reddy, Kuravi on 29-10-2022. At the outset the host farmer shared his experiences of growing Bt Cotton hybrids – NCS-927 (Siri) and NCS-2778 (Armitha) under HDPS in 5 acres. He said that he had grown HDPS Cotton during Kharif, 2021 as a demonstration conducted by KVK, Malyal and seeing the good performance of HDPS Cotton, this year too, he had taken up HDPS Cotton. Dr. B. Ramprasad, Sr. Scientist (Entomology), RARS, Warangal explained about the concept of HDPS sowing in Cotton, in detail and answered the queries raised by farmers on the topic. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal informed the house that, sowings of HDPS Cotton can be taken up through pneumatic planter and next season, machine sowings of HDPS Cotton in the district shall be taken up as the planter is now available with the KVK. She also answered the queries on monkey menace in different crops. Sri B. Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad explained about possible crops which can be grown after Cotton and Paddy in the present situation. In this programme, Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), Sri.
