FARM MACHINERY TESTING CENTRE PJTSAU, HYDERABAD
PJTSAU FMTC Mandate
The Farm Machinery Testing Center is running under the Farm Implements and Machinery Scheme. This Center is one of the FMTCs approved by the Department of Agriculture & Co-operation, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India in the direction of ensuring supply of quality agricultural machinery and equipment to the farmers.
This centre will act as an important link between manufacturers and users of agricultural machines as well as other agencies responsible for the introduction and popularization of farm equipments. Commercial and confidential will be carried at this centre. The commercial tests are aimed to verify declarations/claims of the manufacturer/applicant for performance characteristics of machines that are in or ready for commercial production. Confidential tests are carried out for providing confidential information on the performance of the machine, whether ready for commercial production or not or to provide any specific data that may be required by the manufacturer/applicant.
Objectives
- Increasing the reach of farm mechanization to small and marginal farmers and to the regions where availability of farm power is low;
- Promoting ‘Custom Hiring Centres’ to offset the adverse economies of scale arising due to small landholding and high cost of individual ownership;
- Creating hubs for hi-tech & high value farm equipments;
- Creating awareness among stakeholders through demonstration and capacity building activities;
- Ensuring performance testing and certification at designated testing centers located all over the country.
Test Code and Procedure
Testing will be carried out as per relevant Indian Standards of BIS. If, the Indian Standard for any machine is not available, the testing may be carried out as per any other relevant International standard. Based on these standards test codes will be applied for various categories of agricultural machinery and implements. All such test codes will be communicated by the M&T Division of DAC to all the centres for uniform procedures of testing.
How to Apply?
The applicant has to submit an application duly completed to the FMTC, FIM Scheme, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad as per prescribed format. After receipt of application, the center fixes the priority and informs the applicant to deposit testing fee. Thereafter, applicant is asked to submit the test sample as per procedure to the testing authority for testing and evaluation. The testing fee has to be remitted by way of demand draft drawn in favour of the IMPLEMENT TESTING CENTRE, Hyderabad. The testing fee can be revised from time to time.

- All the testing charges in respect of items at No. 1 to 12 in the above table will be increased by 15% at the end of each financial year.
- Testing charges are subject to revision from time to time
Payable by demand draft in favor of “IMPLEMENT TESTING CENTRE” Hyderabad.
Note:
- To test the machine on Additional Crops, extra @40% test fee over and above the original test fee shall be charged.
- The raw material required for test shall be arranged by the applicant at his own cost as per the requirement of the parameters.
- The above testing shall be applicable w.e.f. date of issue of order
- The testing charges shall be revised annually. The testing charges shall be enhanced by 10% over the test fee prevailing in the previous year. The enhanced test fee shall be applicable w.e.f. 1st day of the fiscal year. The enhanced test fee shall not be made applicable on those machines which have been admitted for test before the 1st day of the fiscal year.
- The Service Tax and Cess as per the prevailing rates would be extra over and above the above testing fee.
- Once the machine is submitted for test with all necessary test fee and subsequently if the manufacturer/applicant withdraws the machine from test, there shall be no refund of the test fee deposited.
