Training programme on “ICM practices in Millets” at Seetampeta Banjara village of Sujathanagar mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district on 19-12-2020

KVK, Bhadradri Kothagudem has conducted a training programme on “Integrated Crop Management practices in Millets” at Seetampeta Banjara village, Sujathanagar Mandal on 19.12.2020. Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma, Programme coordinator explained about the package of practices, pest and disease management in millet crops along with benefits of Millets based diet for the human health. Dr. R. Vishwatej explained about growing demand for millets, post-harvest, marketing and value addition. Ms. S. Vindya, SMS (Agro Met.) explained about the weather, season and soils suitable for cultivation of Millet crops like sorghum, Ragi, Korra etc. After the training programme the scientific team visited the farmer’s fields and suggested the remedial measures for pests and diseases observed. A total of 23 farmers attended the training programme.
