8th International Yoga Day was celebrated by NSS unit, Agricultural College, Sircilla on 21-06-2022 with a theme of Yoga for Humanity. The programme was aimed to create awareness among the students about importance of yoga on human health. Dr. J. Rajender, NSS Programme Officer addressed the gathering and briefed the history and benefits of yoga to human health and enlightened the students with how yoga helps for balancing the three types of health i.e., physical, mental and spiritual by following yoga every day. Later, Associate Dean, Dr. T. Uma Maheswari, reiterated that doing yoga is our ancient culture as it was found that Lord Shiva and Sages were the practitioners of yoga and especially it helps to manage stress and anxiety for healthy lifestyle. Later, Mr. T .Ramesh, Physical Director, demonstrated important yoga activities like Pranayama, Suryanamaskaras and asanas which increase the positive energy levels in the body, remove toxins and also brought the harmony between physical and mental health. Finally, vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. P. Madhavi and emphasizes to inculcate yoga in your daily curriculum. All Teaching and Non-teaching staff and outsourced personnel workers participated in this programme.
