Rythu Sadassu and Agriculture Exhibition’’was jointly organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rudrur, DAATTC, Malthummeda and Department of Agriculture, Nizamabad at Aloor village of Armoor Mandal where Honourable Chief guest Sri. Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy, PUC chairman & MLA, Armoor and President of the programme Dr. P Jaganmohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, Northern Telangana Zone, Polasa, Jagtial, Sri. M. Govindu, District Agriculture Officer, Nizamabad, Dr. M. Sridhar, Principal Scientist & Head, Regional Sugarcane and Rice Research Station, Rudrur, Sri. B. Murali, Coordinator, District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centre, Malthummeda, Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator along with Scientific staff of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rudrur,Teaching staff of College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur, Farmers of Armoor Mandal and RAWEP students under KVK, Rudrur, Nizamabad and DAATTC, Malthummeda, Kamareddy participated in the programme.The Programme followed registration of all the participants at 10.00 A.M. All the officials of Department of Agriculture extended a warm welcome to the Honourable Chief Guest Sri. Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy,PUC chairman, MLA, Armoor, subsequently he inaugurated the exhibition stalls installed by RAWEP students of KVK, Rudrur and DAATTC, Malthummeda and engagingly interacted and listened to their demonstrations regarding modern agricultural practices that are for the beneficial purpose of farming community.Dr. S. Ch. Rajeshwar, PACS Vice Chairman, Aloor onto the dias. The event started with lighting of lamp by Chief Guest of the programme along with all the dignitaries invited on the dias. Dr. P. Jaganmohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Polasa, Jagtial began the programme with introductory remarks while addressing the gathering and stated that Rural Agriculture Work Experience Programme (RAWEP)can be apt in one quote “Seeing is Believing, Learning by Doing” that it helps the students to get exposure with farmers practically in ground level. Later on, emphasized on the RAWEP objectives and work done by the students with their allotted host farmers at their respective villages and also appealed the farmers, to implement the latest technologies in their fields which are showcased by the students through various display models. He was so impressed after seeing the conceptual demonstrations under thematic representations exhibited by RAWEP students as follows:

Sri. M Govindu, District Agriculture Officer, Nizamabad enlightenedthe farmer community to follow the advisories of Scientists and Agricultural Department officials to get awareness regarding the useful agricultural schemes provided by the state government. He further stressed that there is a need to follow crop rotation practice by the farmers of the district to improve the soil health that helps in providing nutrients to the soil without synthetic inputs, interrupt pest and disease cycles and increase biodiversity on the farm. Dr. M. Sridhar, Principal Scientist & Head, RS&RRS, Rudrur explained about the importance of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and addressed the farmers to maintain a value chain product by carefully following the steps from sowing to processing of the harvested produce to obtain branded quality product as per the FSSAI standards. In addition to this, he further advised the farmers to develop into Farmer Producer’s Organization (FPO’s) for collective self –help action aimed at improving their own economic and social situation of their communities. Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Rudrur appealed the farmers to follow dryland farming, crop rotation and soil water conservation practices mainly considering the crop according to the available market demand. He further stated that the scientists of all the disciplines of agriculture will be availableboth in online and offline to the farming community for resolving the queries related to the agril. and allied crops. Sri. Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy,PUC chairman, MLA, Armoor felt impressed by the exhibited display models of RAWEP students and appreciated them for their efforts in conveying valuable information to the farmers. Further headdressed the importance of Rythu Sadassu gathering as the most valuable basis to the agricultural students of PJTSAU as it is benefitting them to deliver the knowledge generated during their bachelors degree course study to keep it into practical framework by staying in contact with farmers and learning the work to bring it to the view of Telangana Government that leads to the way of benefitting the farming community. He addressed the farmers to follow the mechanization techniques such as mechanized method of transplanting in rice, raising the paddy nursery on polythene sheets, drip irrigation method, mechanized harvesting in turmeric that are displayed in the stalls by the RAWEP students and to stay in contact with the Scientists and implement the suggestions provided by them at field level to obtain higher yield and meet the standards with available market demand. During post lunch an interaction session was held between the Scientists and farmers. The Scientists of Crop production, Plant protection and Horticulture disciplines have cleared the issues regarding paddy and turmeric mechanization, cultivation, pests and disease aspects. RAWEP students have shared their experience and expressed their gratitude towards their host farmers for providing valuable opportunity to work along with them and gain practical knowledge at farm level that helps in building their research capabilities that is purely linked for the benefit of farming community. The event came to a fine closure with formal vote of thanks by Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Rudrur, Nizamabad.
