Hon’ble Collector and District Magistrate, Karimnagar Shri R.V.Karnan, IAS addressed the meeting organized by Agricultural Research Unit, AICRP on Farm Implements and Machinery, ARI, Rajendranagar in association with ARS and DAATTC Karimnagar on Technology and Agricultural Machinery Demonstration Mela on 9th February, 2023

Technology and Agricultural Machinery Demonstration Mela, has been conducted on 9th February, 2023 at ARS Karimnagar with the financial assistance of AICRP on FIM, ARI, Rajendranagar. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Cordinator DAATTC, has invited all the dignitaries on to the dias and the University song was played. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist and Head gave the welcome address and briefed the necessity of mechanization in the present scenario. Dr.G.Srinivas, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial has chaired the session and encouraged the farmers to turn towards mechanization and also to go for diversified cropping patterns and also sensitized the farmers that difficulties in cultivation aspects persist in all the crops but that has to be overcome by executing the latest technologies and what all best could be done at the farmers’ level. The chief guest, Sri. R.V.Karnan, Honorable Collector and District Magistrate, Karimnagar has addressed the farmers and conveyed that Government has implemented several schemes for the provision of machines thus, paving the way towards mechanization and also quoted that the cotton pickers in HDPS cotton which were successful in Tamil Nadu will soon be introduced in Telangana also for the benefit of our farmers. Dr.P.Rajaiah, Principal Scientist (Ag.Engg.) and Head, AICRP on FIM, ARI, Rajendranagar has detailed the various machinery available for sowing to harvesting for the farmers in various crops. Sri. Ananth Kumar, AGM, NABARD Karimnagar has explained the different agricultural schemes beneficial for the farmers. Various machinery from several private firms right from sowing to harvesting including drone spraying have been demonstrated to the farmers along with the working condition, price and availability. Live demonstration of drone spraying in maize crop and exhibition of tractors, combined harvestor, multi crop thresher, bailer, less pollution tractor, cono weeders, maize shellers, power weeders, boom sprayer, vacuum planter, seed drills, different types of sprayers, etc. have been demonstrated for the farmers. Smt. Ch.Priyanka, CEO Zilla Parishad, Dr.N.Venkateshwar Rao, Senior Scientist KVK, Jammikunta, District Agricultural Officer, Karimnagar, Sri. V. Sridhar, Mandal Agricultural Officers, Agricultural Extension Officers, 30 farmers from adopted village and around 142 farmers from other mandals of Karimnagar district, 20 from private firms of machinery have participated in the programme. Vyvasaya Panchangams have been sold to the interested farmers and Around 150 youtube subscriptions have been done in the farmers’s mobiles.
