Certificate Distribution programme of Skill development Training on Agriculture Extension Service Provider on 10.6.2022 at RARS, Polasa, Jagtial
A two days training program (07-06-2022 to 08-06-2022) on “Baking with millets” to rural SC farm women (44no.) from KVK-Gadipally, Suryapet district from 5 different villages at Millet Processing and Incubation Centre (MPIC), Department of Foods & Nutrition, College of Community Science, PJTSAU has been organised under SC Sub plan ICAR AED for the year 2021-2022 to empower them in bakery aspects. The coordinatros for training programme were Dr.B. Anila Kumari, Assitant Professor and Officer incharge MPIC, and Dr. E. Jyothsna, Assistant professor. As a part of training program training kits and manual were distributed to participants.
Training program includes following components:
- Introduction to baking accessories, baking machineries, various packaging machineries involved and exposure to different bakery related equipment.
- Basic concepts related to raw material weighing, steps involved in primary processing activities like Grain cleaning, grading, dehulling, milling and sifting as a part of pre-preparation of flour making and hands on experience of the same.
- Step wise explanation of biscuit dough mixing, cutting and baking and instructions/ rules need to follow related to food safety and personal hygiene and hands on experience of the same.
- Hands on experience - Aspects related to Bread and buns dough mixing, proofing, kneading the dough and rolling in cylindrical shape for baking.
- Exposure to cake decoration techniques- Preparation of cake base, cream for cake decoration, flavour mixing and sculpting of rose petals essential for cake decoration with flavoured cream.
- Complete cake decoration aspects and steps involved in preparing different cake models: Fountain cake, Doll cake, Pastry cake and Single letter cakes.
- Explained about different types of packaging material available, steps involved in packaging of produced bakery goods, the contents of food labelling and its importance.
Valedictory function was attended by Associate Dean Incharge Dr.V.Vijayalakshmi, Dr.T.Sucharitha Devi, UHoD,FN and Dr. T.Supraja, HOD, FN.
