Training Programme on Better Management Practices of Maize under SCSP

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial organised training programme on Better Management Practices of Maize on 15-10-2021 at KVK instructional farm under SCSP. After wards, as a part of crop diversification distributed the Bengal gram seed to the scheduled caste farmers under SCSP 2021-22. In this programme, Dr.Rajeshwar Naik Programme Coordinator addressed the farmers on the importance of crop diversification and suggested the alternate crops for yasangi rice and its management practices. Later distributed the high yielding Bengal gram seed (NBeG-3) to the scheduled caste farmers as a part of crop diversification under SCSP 2021-22. Dr. I.Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) addressed the farmers on better management practices of maize includes sowing, weed management, nutrient management, pest and diseases management practices of yasangi maize. Also explained the management practices of Bengal gram where the seed is distributed to the SC farmers under SCSP 2021-22. Later, farmers were informed to subscribe the Youtube channel of PJTSAU and KVK Bellampalli to get update information on agriculture and allied activities. For this programme, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri.A.Nagaraju SMS (Plant Protection), Smt.U.Sravanthi SMS (Horticulture) and Dr. Satish, SMS (Agro meteorology) along with the public representatives (Village Sarpanch) and 32 No. of SC farmers were participated from Gampalapalli, Manneguda and Malagurijala villages of Mancherial district.
