National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-MSME), An Organisation of the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and ISO 9001-2015 Certified), Yousufguda, Hyderabad – 500 045 and Rajeev Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India jointly in collaboration with College of Agriculutre, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU has organized a 3 day training programme on Farm Based Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities for Rural Youth from 9th to 11th March, in Virtual Classroom, CA, R.Nagar. The programme is designed and fabricated in such a way that, to create awareness and provide required knowledge to the Rural youth about the opportunities available in the farm sector and participants were exposed to various schemes and supporting institutes which are facilitating the Rural youth in taking up the farm bases livelihoods. A total of 40 meritorious students of Under Graduate Programme undergoing AELP from all constituent colleges of PJTSAU related to Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Community Science were nominated for the programme. During the programme, students were exposed to various concepts of livelihoods, concepts of entrepreneurship and had interactive sessions on identification of opportunities for taking up farm based livelihoods. In addition to the above, a session on Soft skills was also organized in order to benefit the outgoing students. Three days Speakers from various organizations with varied expertise were invited to share their practical knowledge and experiences with the students. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Dr. Srikanth Sharma, Associate Faculty, NI-MSME, Yousifguda and Dr. B. Savitha, Associate Professor, PJTSAU who is coordinated the programme from PJTSAU. On 11th March, Valedictory session was conducted. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, was the Chief Guest for the session. Mr. Vivek, Associate Faculty, NI-MSME, Yousufguda and Dr. B. Savitha, Associate Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension, CA, R.nagar also participated in the programme. Participants expressed that, this programme has created awareness about the opportunities available, schemes of Govt of India, facilitation that is available for the aspiring entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector. At the end of programme, Chief Guest, Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean has distributed the certificates to the all the participants and Dr. B. Savitha, Associate Professor proposed formal vote of thanks.
