Report on training cum diagnostic field visit to Peddarajamoor village of Devarakadra Mandal, Mahabubnagar on 20-09-2024

The diagnostic team constituting of Dr. Ch. Bharat Bhushan, Coordinator, DAATTC, Palem, Dr. V. Ram Reddy, Scientist (Pl. Breeding), Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, Scientist (SSAC) and Dr. V. Divya Rani, Scientist (Pl. Path.) proceeded to Peddarajamoor Village of Devarakadra Mandal, Mahabubnagar district. During visit a training programme was organized along with Agricultural Department officials Sri. Yashwanth Rao, ADA, Sri. Rajendra Agarwal, MAO, Sri. Harish Kumar AEO to the farmers of the village at Grama panchayat. During training agricultural department officials gave information regarding best management practices of rice crop, Dr. Ch. Bharat Bhushan sir gave information regarding fertilizer usage in paddy, Dr. Ram Reddy gave information regarding the paddy varieties available in the university and quality seed production methods in paddy, Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, explained about the salinity management in paddy and also regarding the soil testing and Dr. V. Divya Rani explained about pest and disease management aspects in paddy crop. Total village was occupied by paddy crop which is around 1000 acres. Later, the team visited the paddy fields in the village during visit we have observed incidence blast and bacterial blight disease but the incidence was low to moderate and we have recommended plantamycin 0.2 grams / litre water along with copper fungicide copper hydroxide 2. 0 g. /litre water for management of bacterial leaf blight and tricyclazole 0.6g/ litre water for management of blast disease. A total of 25 farmers were attended the training programme and visit.
