Collaborative Training Program on “Mobile Journalism (MOJO) for effective Transfer of Technology for Extension Officers

Electronic Wing, PJTSAU and MANAGE, Hyderabad has jointly organized online training programme on “Mobile Journalism for effective Transfer of Technology for Extension Officers” from 14th – 17th December, 2021. Chief guest of the Inaugural session Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad in his introductory remarks stated that today mobiles are a powerful tool in the hands of Agricultural Extension, specialist/ Scientist, to achieve effective and timely communication of agro advisories to the farmers. Use of mobiles for mobile based Agricultural journalism empowers and energizes the agri experts and gives them a lead to reach expectations of the farmers, in the arena of limitation of resources. Dr. V.Sudha Rani Director of Extension, PJTSAU, Chief guest of the valedictory session said that in this era of digitalization peoples are more interested in listening and watching over reading so this training programme proves to be very effective in enhancing the skills of MOJO users and equipping them with tools to communicate real time agro advisories to the farmers. Dr.Kusuma Krishna Shankar, Associate Professor, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islam, New Delhi presented “Emergence of MOJO-Opportunities and future challenges in Agriculture, Dr.S.Rajesh Khanna, Director, Arcus Excellence Academy, Rajahmundry dealt with Video Journalism Effective Video making by using Smart Phone. Dr. Madhavi Ravi Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication, S.N. School of Arts and Communication, Hyderabad Central University (HCU) Telangana. Presented Mobile Story telling and Hands on experience on Mobile Story telling and Prof. F.B. Khan spoke on Professor of Photography expressed that the MOJO stands as a new platform to agricultural extension specialist to share effectively their technical knowledge and technology to the stake holders. The Course team Dr.A.Sreenivasacharyulu, Programme Officer, MANAGE, Dr. M. Sreenivasulu Course Director and Coordinator, Smt.J.S. Sudha Rani and Dr.P. Prashanth, Electronic Wing participated. About 25 participants from across India attended the four days online training programme.
