Agricultural Research Station, Madhira organized Awareness cum training programme on importance of pulses in Agriculture on the eve of World pulses day on 10th February, 2022 at Buchireddypalem (V), Errupalem (M) . All the Scientists of ARS, Madhira and 50 farmers from Buchireddypalem and near villages of Khammam district were participated in this programme. This programme is hosted by Dr. K. Rukmini Devi, Senior Scientist (Br) & Head. Dr. K. Rukmini Devi, Senior Scientist (Br) & Head explained about the importance of pulses in agriculture and the varieties released from ARS, Madhira, Bottle necks and future needs of pulses to the farmers. Dr. G. Venugopal, Scientist (SS&AC) elaborately explained how the pulse cropping system improves the soil physical, chemical and biological properties and also discussed about “Fertilizer management in pulses, he pointed out how to reduce the chemical sources of Fertilizers through integrated approach in pulses and other crops. K. Naga swathi, Scientist (Ento) explained the important integrated pest management practices in pulses. Dr. P.Jhansi Rani, Scientist (Br.) delivered lecture Seed production aspects of pulses.
