Training Programme on Vertebrate Pest Management on 08-12-2021

Village adoption committee of Agricultural College, Sircilla has organized training programme on vertebrate pest management at adopted village Narsimhulapalle on 08.12.2021 to create awareness on management of pests like Wild boars, Monkeys and Bird. The programme started with welcome address by Dr. R. Sathish, Asst. Professor (Ento.). Dr. K. Kanaka Durga, Professor (GPBR), spoken about various programmes taken up by the College at the adopted village in last three years regarding technologies demonstrated in farmer’s field. Dr. V. Sunitha, Scientist (Ento.) AINP (All India Network Project) on Vertebrate Pest Management (VPM) explained about the best way of vertebrate management that ensure the safety of wild life and reduce the degradation of forests. She emphasised about to reduce the crop losse biological vertebrate management practices which are needed for protection of wild animals instead of killing them. Later Dr. I. Aruna Sree, Scientist (Ento.) AINP-VPM explained about the technologies developed for management of Wild Boars, Monkey, Rodent and Bird pests. Mrs. K. BhavyaSree, Asst. Professor (Horti.) has proposed the vote of thanks. In this programme, along with village adoption committee members, village deputy Sarpnch and farmers have participated.
