KVK, Malyal organized “World Pulses Day” on 10th February 2024 at Vissampalli Chinnagudur under SCSP, 2023-24 and Eshwaragudem, Kothaguda under Tribal Sub Plan, 2023-24. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) & Co-PI SCSP and Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Hort.) & Co-PI, TSP addressed the gathering and explained the importance of World Pulses Day and the theme of the day – “Pulses: nourishing soils and people” and importance of pulses in a healthy diet. They also appraised main motto of celebrating pulses day is to spread awareness about nutritional as well as environmental benefits of pulses as a part of sustainable food production. They requested the farmers to grow pulses in atleast some part of land holdings to meet their house hold requirement. In these programmes, a total 80 no. of farmers and farmwomen (28 from SCSP adopted village and 52 from TSP adopted village) participated.
