Plantation programme by PJTAU – CARRIER – NIRMAAN, NGO at AICRP on Agroforestry, Rajendranagar on 20-09-2024

A plantation programme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was organized on 20.09.2024 at AICRP on Agroforestry in association with NIRMAAN – NGO and CARRIER IT Company, Hyderabad. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research and Registrar, PJTAU has participated as a Chief guest and enlightened all about importance of tree plantation besides ongoing research, teaching and extension activities in PJTAU. He also thanked NIRMAAN and CARRIER for providing financial support for the plantation programme. Dr. A. V. Ramanjaneyulu, Principal Scientist (Agro.) & Head has explained in brief about significance of planting new varieties of fruit crops with high market value. Mrs. P. Anuradha, Chief Operating officer, Mr. B. Tirupathi and Mr. G. Shant Kumar, Senior Programme Managers from NGO NIRMAAN, Mrs. Samarpita, Head, HR Global, Mr. Nishanth, CSR lead from CARRIER IT company and Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head and Dr. T. Chaitanya, Scientist (Soil Science), AICRP on Agroforestry, 50 employees from CARRIER, IT Company have participated in this “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” programme. On this auspicious occasion, 180 saplings viz., Guava (VNR-Bihi), Custard apple (NMK1 Golden), Jamun (Konkan bahadoli) and Pomegranate (Baguva) were planted. Further, 220 saplings belonging to 11 different varieties of mango were distributed to farmers.
