PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 and Field Diagnostic Visit have been organized at Adopted Village Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on 17th October, 2022 by Agricultural Research Station and DAATTC, Karimnagar. Dr.G.Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Adopted Village Incharge has addressed the farmers. The theme of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Sammelan, 2022 was to cut down the indiscriminate usage of fertilizers and also to bring the fertilizers under One Nation One Fertilizer. Thereafter, telecasted the live programme of Sri. Narendra Modi addressing the farmers that the need of the hour is to adopt technology-based modern farming techniques and further elaborated that Kisan Sammelan is a means to make the lives of farmers easier, boost their capability and promote advanced agricultural techniques. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, has encouraged the farmers to organize themselves into Farmer Producer Organizations for reaping good benefits to their produce. Dr.M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) has addressed the farmers on the measures to be taken in paddy and cotton crops due to the prevailing heavy rainfall conditions. Field Diagnostic Visit has been conducted in cotton and paddy field and the necessary precautions and suggestions for the concerned pests and diseases have been given to the farmers. Boll Rot was noticed in cotton and was suggested to go for drenching of plants at base by Copper Oxy Chloride @3g/lt. Also the precautionary measures for pink boll worm were also suggested to install 4 pheromone traps per acre on community basis for monitoring of the pest incidence, precautionary application of Neem Oil-1500 ppm @ 5ml/lt, spraying of Profenophos @2 ml/lt, or Thiodicarb @1.5g or Chlorpyriphos @2.5 ml or Quinolphos @ 2 ml/lt. Panicle mite was observed in paddy and was suggested to go for spraying of Spiromeciphen @1ml/lt or Dicofol @ 5 ml/lt in an interval of 15 days. RAWEP students of Adopted Village, Agricultural Extension Officer, Sri. Lalitha, ATM, Sri. Ramya, Village Sarpanch Sri. Nayani Prasad, Ward Member, Sri. Kola Sampath, Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Convenor Sri. Godala Chandraiah and around 50 farmers were involved in the programme. Further, the programme has been telecasted in several other villages by the RAWEP students of DAATTC Karimnagar.
