Celebration of Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar Jayanthi at RARS, Palem on 6th August, 2020

Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar Sir’s Jayanthi was celebrated at Regional Agricultural Research station, Palem on August 6th, 2020 to commemorate the 87th birth anniversary of Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar. Teaching staff, Dr. K. Avil Kumar, The Associate Director Research, STZ, Dr. M. Sujatha PS (Oilseeds), Teaching and non-teaching staff were participated in the celebrations by following measures like social distancing, using of masks and optimal number of staff. The programme was started with garlanding the photo of Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar by Dr. K. Avil Kumar and Dr. M. Sujatha PS (Oilseeds), floral tributes by all other teaching and non-teaching staff of RARS. While addressing the Teaching and Non-teaching staff of RARS, Palem, ADR expressed about Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar contributions to the Telangana state formation and Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) named in honour and memory of Professor Jayashankar, is the only farm university of Telangana state which came into being in the event of the bifurcation from Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University. Dr. M. Sujatha PS (Oilseeds) has detailed about Prof. Jayashankar and his role in Telangana Movement and she also emphasized that, he was former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University. Dr. M. Sujatha PS (Oilseeds) also told that, achieving the state is not the end and every one in their respective capabilities should deliver their duties to strengthen the state in all respects. Further, highlighted that all the staff should work hard and deliver their contributions for the better livelihood of farming community in the state.
