RARS, Polasa, Jagtial organized awareness programme on crop diversification, drum seeding in paddy, importance of weather apps in agriculture, forecast prices of agricultural commodities and mobile apps in agriculture on 10-12-2021

Awareness programme on crop diversification, drum seeding in paddy, importance of weathers apps in agriculture, forecast prices of agricultural commodities, e-NAM and mobile apps in agriculture was conducted in the adopted village of RARS, Veldurthi, Jagtial on 10th December, 2021 as per the suggestions given by the Associate Director of Research Dr.M.Uma Devi, RARS, Jagtial.

  • In this programme, Dr. P. Revathi, Scientist (Agronomy) enlighten the farmers regarding the importance of crop diversification and suggested the farmers regarding the cultivation of pulses and oil seed crops in Yasangi to achieve self-sufficiency in food production in relation to the crop diversification. She also suggested growing paddy by drum seeding method to reduce cost of cultivation, increased returns and to overcome labour problem in the fields near the command areas.
  • N. Navatha, Scientist (Agronomy) briefed about the importance of weathers apps in agriculture viz., Mousam app, Meghdoot app, Damini app and Rainalarm app. Later, explained about the weather bulletins being released by RARS, Jagtial on every Tuesday and Friday.
  • Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Ag. Economics) given the information on forecast prices released by PJTSAU, later market price information material was distributed to the farmers. Also, explained about the importance of e-NAM in agriculture and suggested the farmers to download e-NAM mobile app which is useful to know the market price information.
  • P. Sadvi, Scientist (Ag. Extension) explained about the information on mobile apps viz., DWR-Herbcal, Crop Darpan and Crop Doctor.
  • In this programme, adopted village in-charges, Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Ag. Economics) and P. Sadvi, Scientist (Ag. Extension), Dr. P. Revathi, Scientist (Agronomy) and N. Navatha, Scientist (Agronomy), Hareesh, A.E.O, Anvesh, H.O., Praveen Goud, Sarpanch, Veldurthi and 22 No.s of farmers were participated.
