Regional Agricultural Research Station organized awareness programme on vegetable cultivation, value addition, Government schemes and distribution of vegetable seeds to promote Kitchen gardening at adopted village, veldurthi, Jagtial on 31-01-2022

  • Reginal Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtialorganized“awareness programme on vegetable cultivation, government schemes and distribution of vegetable seeds at adopted village, Veldurthi, Jagtial on 31.01.22.
  • The programme was started with brief introduction of advantages of kitchen garden by P. Sadvi, Scientist (Agril. Extension).
  • Dr. K. Swathi explained about the cultivation practices of vegetable seeds. She also briefed about the health benefits of maintaining kitchen garden to the farmers.
  • Dr.D. Padmaja, Scientist (Plant Breeding) urged the farmers to go for value addition of sesame as the farmers are reaping good harvest of sesame, it would be healthy if the farmers can go for oil extraction and consume sesame oil due to its numerous health benefits.
  • Later, vegetable seeds (10 vegetable varieties) were distributed under Kitchen gardening to farmers (40 Nos).
  • As part of the programme, Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Agril. Economics) enlighten the farmers regarding government schemes to farmers like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Maandhan Yojana etc.
  • Later, field visit was conducted in Turmeric, paddy and vegetable crops and need based suggestions were advised to the farmers.
  • In this programme, Dr. D.A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Ag. Economics), P. Sadvi, Scientist (Agril. Extension), Dr. D. Padmaja, Scientist (Plant Breeding) and Dr. K. Swathi, Asst. Professor (Horticulture), Praveen Goud, Sarpanch, Veldurthi and 44 No. of farmers were participated.
