RARS, PALEM organized a meeting for the popularization of groundnut variety Kadiri Lepakshi (K-1812) seed distribution programme in Adopted village-Vattem on 05-08-2021.

RARS, Palem conducted the ground nut seed distribution programme on 05-08-2021. The programme was attended by Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem and he mentioned that the quality of seed of groundnut new variety Kadiri Lepakshi (K-1812) which is becoming more popular among the farmers in our region and seed is not available to the farmers. So RARS Palem scientists encouraging farmer to farmer seed production in adopted village with Kadiri Lepakshi (K-1812) for the benefit of the farmers and also distributed the 10 quintals of breeder seed to the farmers on cost basis. Dr.M. Sujatha (PS Oils seeds) mentioned the importance of ground nut crop cultivation our region and encouraged the farmers to go for groundnut cultivation in rabi season to get good income to them. Dr.G.Seshu scientist (Pl.Br) has explained different groundnut varieties and its characters and seed production aspects for better quality seed production. Smt K.Mamatha, Scientist (Agronomy) briefed the mechanized cultivation in the groundnut. In this programme Sri.S.Ramesh, Scientist (Entomology), Sri. Vishnu (AEO) and total of 35 farmers along with village Sarpach and MPTC participated.
