RARS, Palem organized Kharif preparedness meeting on 05-07-2023 at boppally village of Telkapally Mandal of Nagarkurnool district.
Activity details:
- Dr. M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem highlighted the mandates of the university and progress made by the RARS, Palem since its inception. Emphasized about the mandate of village adoption activities, timely sowing of various crops in Vanakalam and Yasangi and interacted with farmers about crop conditions. Addressed the farmers quarries on different aspects of quality seed selection, characteristics and sowings of the seed.
- Dr. S. Vani Sree, Principle Scientist, Oil Seeds created awareness on selection of suitable varieties of seeds, time of sowing and importance of seed treatment in various Vanakalam and Yasangi crops.
- Dr. M. Shanker, Scientist (Entomology) explained about various Integrated Pest and Disease Management practices in Rice, Cotton and Groundnut.
- Dr. K. Sadaih, Scientist (Plant Breeding) explained about importance of cultivation of oil seed crops and availability of seeds in RARS, Palem. Motivated the farmers for growing castor in Rabi
- Dr. K. Sridhar, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about weed management in Rice and various direct sowing techniques in Paddy
- Dr. P. Archana, Scientist (ToT), DAATTC, Mahabubnagar sensitized farmers about Kisan Sarathi programme and explained Greengram, Blackgram and Redgram minikit characters of MGG-389, MBG-1080 WRGE-182 and distributed to 5 farmers.
