RARS WARANGAL CONDUCTED EXPOSURE VISIT TO FARMERS OF WARANGAL DISTRICT FOR PROGRESSIVE VILLAGE ANKAPUR, IN NIZAMABAD DISTRICT ON 27-09-2024.

As part of implementation of NABARD project on Training Farmers on Strategies of Soil Health Management for sustainable Crop Productivity, Millet Cultivation, Integrated Farming System at RARS, Warangal conducted exposure visit to 50 famers participants in the training programme to the Ankapur village, Nizamabad district on 27-09-2024. In the village the farmers observed the maize stubble incorporation in soil with cage wheel the practice of incorporation with cage wheel is new innovation with which the stalk powdered perfectly and incorporated in soil it will help the soil by the way of reducing bulk density by improving organic matter in soil. The sowing of soybean in kharif will improve the soil organic carbon status which enhances the microbial population in soil finally leads to help in productivity of rabi crops like maize, ground nut and sesame. The farmers are sowing turmeric in raised beds with paired row with drip irrigation system gave higher yield with less investment enhances benefit cost ratio to the farmers. Wherein farmers observed the inter cropping the maize with turmeric is a age old practice in their area but still in Warangal farmers are not practicing. Multiple crops like turmeric, chillies and bitter guard are growing in same field. Overall Ankapur farmers impressed upon Warangal farmers in the unity towards soil health improvement, solving land related issues, farmers societies maintainance and competition in economic progress among the families within the village.
