Regional Agricultural Research Station, AICRP on Pigeonpea, Warangal organised a field day on full package technology (FPT) as part of front line demonstration at Anantharm village of Geesukonda mandal of Hanamkonda District on 23rd December, 2023. Dr. N. Sandhya kishore, Scientist (Plant breeding), Pulses section (Head), RARS, Warangal, chaired the programme and addressed the farmers about importance of cultivation of pigeonpea crop and explained about different technologies developed like ridge and furrow method of sowing, nipping practice, GA3 application during flowering, intercropping, cost of cultivation of pigeonpea compare with other crops like cotton. Later Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) & officer-incharge, FLD explained about economics of Pulses cultivation when compared to cotton, other crops and also explained about importance of mechanization in pigeonpea. Dr. D. Veeranna, Scientist (Entomology), briefed about integrated management of pod fly, maruca, helicoverpa in pigeonpea. Later, FLD famer, Uppal Rameh shared his experience with the fellow farmers about the Redgram variety (WRGE-97), which is sown in his field and also about package of practices. The programme was followed by field visit, and farmers expressed satisfaction over the crop performance and shared their willingness to take up the technologies in a big way. In this programme, about 40 farmers from Anathram, Elkurthi Haveli, and Dharmaram villages of Geesukonda mandal of Warangal district were participated in the meeting.
