Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Warangal organized Seed distribution cum Training programme in paddy to the tribal beneficiaries (Dharma Thanda, Banjarapally village of Nekkonda mandal of Warangal district) at RARS, Warangal under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) 2022-23 sponsored by ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR), Hyderabad on 03-07-2023.The meeting was chaired by Dr.R.Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal and explained the important tips in kharif crops cultivationand also said that the importance of tribal sub plan scheme.DR.Ch Damodar Raju, Principal Scientist (Pl.Br.), Rice section, RARS, Warangal explained the important points in paddy cultivation for getting higher yields also he stressed that how to overcome salinity problem in paddy fields. Dr.B.Dileep Kumar, Coordinator, DAATTC, Warangal explained about pest and disease management in paddy and he also given important tips to tribal beneficiaries on how to protect cotton crop from present weather situation. Dr.G.Veeranna, Principal Scientist (Crop Production), DAATTC, Warangal stressed on Weed and fertilizer management and direct seeding methodology in rice and Maize cultivation practices. Dr.B.Satish Chandra, Scientist & Principal Investigator (TSP) explained about objectives and implementation of project at tribal villages and also explained rice variety WGL 962 characteristic features to the farmers. During training programme beneficiaries posed several queries and were clarified by the scientists. Later,50 kg Seed i.e WGL 962 (Warangal Vari-2) was distributed to each beneficiary per 1 ha byAssociate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal and other scientists. Total 150 bags (each farmer @ 2 bags) were distributed to 75 No. beneficiaries. Sri.A.Nagaraju, MAO, Nekkonda mandal and sri Ranjith, AEO, Banjarapally village of Nekkonda mandal , Sri Bdavath Ravi, SarpanchBanjarapally village were attended the programme.
