Patron Officers of RRC at Universities / colleges Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS), Dept. of Health, Medical & Family Welfare, Government of Telangana, Hyderabad in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS), Higher Education Department Government of Telangana, Hyderabad is organizing RRC Awareness Programmes educating Youth and Prevention of HIV/AIDS in all the Districts of Telangana State. To create health awareness among youth and to give a talk and to guide the students on social and psychological stigma on HIV. AGAPE, NGO, Founder and Managing Director has been invited to College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 26-03-2022.The programme was graced by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, appreciated the kindness and efforts of Mrs. Lynne, AGAPE’s Founder and Managing Director spending 20 years committed to caring for AIDS orphans in India, and accepting the people and kids affected with HIV/AIDS. Mrs. Lynne explained that the children admitted to AGAPE are from families where one or more parents are suffering with HIV/AIDS and don’t have any means of support or whose parents have already died of HIV/AIDS. AGAPE takes all children regardless of caste, creed and religion. AGAPE started it’s first childrens home exclusively for AIDS affected/infected orphans in June 2004. Presently there are 6 childrens homes, four for HIV affected children, two for HIV infected children. AGAPE now houses 230 children, 90 of which are HIV positive. After the session, NSS team felicitated Mrs. Lynne Voggu, AGAPE’s Founder and Managing Director and later a rally on Red Ribbon Club activities was conducted by the NSS volunteers. The programme is attended by the Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, NSS Programme officers, Dr. Sharma, and Dr. Udaya from University Health Centre.
