KVK Bellampalli Mancherial conducted the field visit on Rice Minikits such as JGL 28545, KNM 1638 and RNR 29325. Those were distributed to farmers of Malagurjala (Chandravelli), Bhudhakurd, Dugnepalli villages of Bellampalli mandal Mancherial district. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK Mancherial briefed the farmers about the duration, cooking quality, yield potential and pest and disease resistance of the Minikits. He added that, in coming seasons, this quality seed can be used as a seed purpose based on yield performance. The farmers assured that good management practices will be followed and requested to allot the Minikits in the following seasons. Later, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Extension) has interacted with the farmers and recorded the field observations. Gall midge incidence was observed in the RNR 29325. Slight blast incidence was observed on KNM 1638. The farmers expressed their happiness on the Minikits performance.
