KVK, Kampasagar conducted a field visit and awareness programme on Rice Minikit KNM-1638 at Chalmareddygudem(V), Haliya (M) and Nalgonda (Dist) on 10.11.2020. S.Pallavi, SMS (Extension) explained the farmers about the characteristics features of the Minikit and recorded the bio metrical observations. Dr.M.Shankar, SMS (Plant Protection) explained the major pests and disease incidences and their management in rice. Dr.T.Bharath, SMS (Crop Production) briefed the farmers about the package of practices to be followed and mechanization in rice. It was observed that the rice Minikit KNM-1638 crop at grain hardening stage to harvesting stage, overall crop growth performance was good and free from major pests and diseases. Farmer feedback was recorded and expressed that the Minikit is performing well at local field conditions and expecting good yields by observing the crop performance and also expressed that the good cooking quality of rice. Fellow farmers of Chalmareddy gudem (V) also showed interest in cultivating KNM-1638 in ensuing seasons. Later conducted field visit to scented rice Minikit RNR-15435 Vs Sumathi, crop at grain filling to hardening stage and observed Slight incidence of Panicle Mite. Smt.Santhoshi, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Extension Officer and farmers (32 No.) participated in the programme.
