Rythu Nestham Live Programme [Episode-15] “Cultivation of Short Duration Paddy Varieties in Vaanakalam and Weed Management Practices in Vaanakalam Crops” Electronic Wing, PJTSAU, ARI on 09.07.2024

The Rythu Nestam live programme conducted at Electronic Wing Studio of PJTSAU on 09.07.2024 from 10.00 AM – 11.30 AM. The programme started with Sri D. Ganga Reddy, a progressive farmer from Gullapet village of Jagtial district shared his experiences about “Cultivation of Short Duration Paddy Varieties in Vaanakalam, Own seed production and formation of FPOs ” and created awareness among the farming community. After that, Dr P. Gonya Naik, Scientist (Plant Breeding), RARS, Jagtial briefed the characteristic features of short duration paddy varieties suitable for Vaanakalam season to improve farm profitability. Next, Dr M.Madhavi, Principal Scientist & University Head (Agro), Rajendranagar explained the crucial role of herbicides in Vaanakalam crops to ensure labor-saving benefits along with optimal yield and quality. Further clarified the farmers queries from different Rythu Vedikas of Telangana. In this “Rythu Nestham” program, Dr G. Sreenivas, ADR, RARS, Jagtial, Dr M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem , Dr. M. Sreenivasulu, Co-ordinator, Electronic Wing with team, PJTSAU and Sri B. Singareddy, DDA (Extension, Rythu Vedikas) with team from Department of Agriculture attended along with farmers through video conference from 110 Rythu Vedikas across the State.
