Rythu Nestham Live Programme [Episode-17] “Management Practices in Standing Crops due to current Rains Integrated Pest and Disease Management in Vaanakalam Cotton Preventive Measures for Livestock during Vaanakalam” Electronic Wing, PJTSAU, ARI on 23.07.2024

The seventeenth episode of Rythu Nestam Live programme conducted at Electronic Wing Studio of PJTSAU on 23.07.2024 from 10.00 AM – 12.45 PM. The programme started with Dr. S. G. Mahadevappa, Senior Scientist (Agronomy), Agro Climate Research Center (ACRC), ARI, Hyderabad, and explained the district wise rainfall data along with its impact on standing crops along with best management practices to overcome adverse impacts of current. Hereafter, Dr B. Ramprasad, Principal Scientist (Entomology) & Head of ARS, Adilabad and Dr T. Kiran Babu, Scientist (Plant Pathology), ARI, Hyderabad discussed thoroughly about the cultural, biological, and chemical methods to control pest and diseases in cotton to combat current rains to ensure healthy crop growth and to minimize yield losses. From there Dr K. Satish Kumar, Professor (Veterinary Medicine) from P.V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad discussed about various pests and diseases due to rains which can affect livestock at this rainy season along with management strategies for their well-being and productivity. At this program, Associate Director of Research, Central Telangana Zone and Southern Telangana Zone also participated and gave their valuable suggestions to battle pests and diseases for current rains. Further Dr. M. Sreenivasulu, Co-ordinator of Electronic Wing with team from PJTSAU and Sri B. Singareddy, DDA (Extension, Rythu Vedikas) with team from Department of Agriculture participated along with 20951 farmers through video conference from 566 Rythu Vedikas across the state.
