Scientific Advisory Committee” meeting of KVK, Malyal was organized at KVK, on 24-02-2023 under the chairmanship of Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, CTZ, RARS Warangal. The meeting started with opening remarks by the chairman who suggested to propose action plan to cater to the farmers’ needs. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme coordinator, KVK, Malyal presented the action taken report of SAC proceedings of 2022 and presented overall activities of KVK, Malyal and each scientist presented their work done of technical programme 2022-2023 and action plan for 2023-24. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal suggested to the scientists of KVK, Malyal to conduct trainings /awareness programmes on income generating resources to farmers and to increase soil fertility activities like growing of green manure crops and incorporation of crop residues. He also suggested to document all activities taken up by the KVK, scientists and suggested to focus on Agri. entrepreneurship development activities in rural areas. On this occasion a telugu folder on “Pasupu sagulo melaina yajamanya padhathulu” was released by the Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal and other district officials of Agril. and allied departments. Officials from line Departments Sri. B. Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad suggested to conduct awareness programmes on INM, Direct seeded paddy, western thrips in chilli. Later, Sri. K. Suryanarayana, DHSO, Mahabubabad, suggested screen chilli varieties for oleoresin content. Other line Department Officials (Asst. Inspector (fisheries), ADA (Veterinary), DPM(NA), DRDA) of Mahabubabad district, Scientists from Horticulture Research Station, Malyal, KVK, Malyal and 11 No.of progressive farmers from different villages of Mahabubabad and Warangal districts have participated in the SAC meeting and gave suggestions for improvement of the action plan.
