Training Cum Seed Distribution Programme Conducted as part of Rastriya Krushi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)at Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS),Warangal on 05-11-2020

Regional Agriculture Research Station, AICRIP, Pigeonpea, Warangal organized training cum seed distribution program as part of Rastriya Krushi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), project at conference hall, RARS, Warangal. Training program was chaired by Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal provided introductory remarks and apprised the famers about the importance of RKVY project entitled “Identify and promote high yielding machine harvestable chickpea varieties to increase income and livelihood opportunities of farmers living in rural and tribal areas of Telangana”, importance of Bengal gram crop, complete package of practice of Bengal gram. Later Dr. N. Sandhyakisore, scientist, (Breeding) presented the brief description of varieties of Bengal gram, Dr. D. Veeranna, Scientist, (Entomology) presented pest and diseases of Bengal gram and their management, Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist, (Agronomy) presented fertilizer and water management . Further farmers interacted with the scientist on the constraints they face with Bengal gram cultivation and cleared their doubts. The programme was followed by method demonstration on seed treatment with bio pesticides, soil application of bio pesticides with FYM and distribution of Bengal gram seeds (varieties NBeG 3, NBeG 47 and improved Kabuli variety 119) to the farmers. In this programme, Mandal Agriculture officer of Geesugonda, AEO, and Seventy famers from Elkturthy, Arepally, Ramchandrapuram, Viswanadhapur, Kommala, Manugonda villages were participated.
