AICRP on Rice, RARS, Warangal has organized seed distribution cum training programme as a part of Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) project, at Ankannagudem, Mulugu mandal & district on 27-06-2020, sponsored by Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), Hyderabad. Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, presided over the programme and addressed the tribal farmers, briefed the importance and objectives of TSP which are aimed for economic benefit of tribal farmers and urged to follow the new technologies in agriculture like cultivation of new improved varieties, good agronomic practices, low cost production technologies , water saving technologies, mechanisation and plant protection methods. Sri. Md. Ghouse Hyder, District Agricultural Officer (DAO), Mulugu district attended as chief guest and stressed upon importance of fertilizer management in paddy crop to obtain higher yields. Dr. B. Satish Chandra, Scientist (Pl.Br.) & Principal Investigator, explained about varietal features of newly released varieties Siddhi and Warangal Rice-1. Nursery management, different water saving cultivation methods like drum seeding, direct seeding in paddy and plant protection measures were given by scientists of RARS, Warangal. At the end of programme Siddhi (WGL-44) and Warangal Rice-1 (WGL-915) rice seed was distributed to the tribal farmers of Ankannagudem and Jaggannagudem thandas by ADR and chief guest. Nearly a total of 130 farmers attended the programme from two thandas. In this programme, scientists Dr. U. Nagabhushanam, Dr. B. Satish Chandra, Dr. R. Shravan Kumar, Sri Santhosh, MAO, Mulugu mandal, Sri Ravi, AEO, Sarvapuram village, Smt. Shyamamla, Sarpanch, Ankannagudem and Sarpanch Jaggannagudem were participated.
