SEED MELA-2022 at REGIONAL AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH STATION, POLASA, JAGTIAL on 24-05-2022

  • Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial organized “Seed mela-2022” on 24.05.2022 to provide quality seed of different rice varieties to the farming community. The programme was chaired by Dr. M. Uma Devi, ADR.  Dr. K. Jhansi Rani, Professor & Head (Dept. of Plant Breeding), College of Agriculture, Jagitial and Dr. K. Sukumar, Vice-Principal In-charge, APT,Jagitial and Dr. D. Sreelatha, PS (Agronomy) and Scientists of RARS, Students of Agricultural College and APT  were also participated.
  • On this occasion, Dr. M. Uma Devi, ADR addressed the farmers about the “Importance of seed mela programme and provided information about available varieties of paddy at RARS, Jagtial and other crops at different stations of PJTSAU”.
  • Dr. K. Jhansi Rani, Professor & Head (Dept. of Plant Breeding), Ag. College, Jagtial created awareness on “Role of seed in improving the yield of crops and also quality seed production for enhancing the income levels of farmers”.
  • Later, the knowledge material entitled “Rythu Utpattidarula Sangham (FPOs)” and “Rythulaku upayogapade vyavasaya prachuranalu, vyavasayaadharitha mobile anuvartanalu” were released by ADR and distributed to farmers and students.
  • During Farmer-scientist interaction meeting, the progressive farmers expressed their experiences about performance and cultivation aspects of PJTSAU released varieties in terms of yield advantages and also visited exhibition arranged in the RARS, Premises.
  • Later, seed sales were started and the farmers of different districts of NTZ purchased quality paddy seed.
  • During this programme, a total of 261 farmers from different districts of NTZ were benefited with seed mela.Out of which 156 farmers were subscribed to PJTSAU YouTube channel.
