KVK, Palem and RARS, Palem jointly organized Seed Mela-2024 cum Farmers-Scientist interaction programme at Auditorium, RARS, Palem on 24.05.2024

This programme chaired by Dr. M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem and briefed about importance of seed mela and timely availability of quality seeds to the farming community etc. Sri.Manohar Reddy, DDM, NABARD briefed about the importance of the FPOs, seed production, marketing and issues pertain to loans to establish agri-enterprenures. Sri.Purna Chandra Reddy, ADA Tech, Nagarkurnool briefed on selection of suitable varieties of seeds, time of sowing and seeds available at RARS & KVK, Palem. Dr.T.Prabahakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem explained on best management practices for higher yield in different crops. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Palem presented on High Density Planting system in Cotton. Farmer-scientist’s interactive session was arranged to address the farmers’ quarries on different aspects of quality seed selection, characteristics and sowing of the seeds. Exhibited the popular varieties of different crops available at RARS and KVK, Palem and has given opportunity to purchase the seed at affordable rates. In this Mela Dr. M. Malla Reddy (RARS, Palem), Dr. B. Pushpavathi (AD, AGC, Palem), Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem), Dr. Bharat Bhushan Rao (Coordinator, DAATTC, Palem), Sri.Purna Chandra Reddy (DAO i/c, Nagarkurnool) and scientific staff of RARS, KVK and APT, Palem and 1236 farmers were participated.
