Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has participated as resource centre for ‘Sensitization Training Programme on Crop Diversification for the ensuing Yasangi Season, 2021-22’ on 24th September, 2021. Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli participated as resource persons for the sensitization programme organised by Department of Agriculture, Mancherial at Rythu vedikas in the district. In this programme Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) has addressed the Hajipur mandal farmers about the mono cropping of paddy and explained different soil deterioration scenarios related to paddy cropping. He suggested the farmers regarding different alternative crops in Yasangi like, Sunflower, Sesame, Chickpea and Groundnut instead of regular paddy crop. He explained the benefits of pulse and oilseed crops cultivation for sustainable income, soil health development and with stand against crop failure of paddy. He requested the farmers to convert their minimum 30 percent of paddy area to suggested crops as well as vegetable cultivation. In the same way other scientists participated as resource persons for the sensitization programme at different locations such as Thandur Mandal- Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Bellampalli Mandal- Dr. I. Thirupathi SMS (Crop Production) and Mandamarri mandal of the Mancherial district - Smt .U.Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture).
