Soil Site Suitability Criteria for Major Crops and Integrated Nutrients Management in Different Crops at RARS, Warangal on 20-06-2024

On this occasion ADR, RARS, Warangal addressed the farmers on the natural resources, (soil, climatic features and water) profoundly influence the cropping patterns and control crop productivity in specified region. Literally the lands for agriculture are under a threat due to multisectoral demand, severe soil degradation and conversion of good fertile land for civilian and other infrastructural development. Dr.Ch.Ramulu addressed the farmers on it is imperative that the land resources needs to be interpreted in terms of their suitability for different agricultural uses with a view to maximise production of food, fuel and fibre. Soil - site suitability studies provide information on the choice of crops to be grown on best suited soil unit for maximizing crop production per unit of land, labour and inputs.Integrated nutrient management (INM) aims at achieving efficient use of chemical fertilizers in conjunction with organic manures and biofertilizers and improves soil health, crop yields and profitability. In this programme Dr.B. Satish Chandra explained about the rice varieties suitable for kharif season.
