Seed Research & Technology Centre, Rajendranagar has observed Parthenium Awareness Week on 22.8.2023. Parthenium plants in the farm premises of SR&TC have been uprooted and disposed off by the teaching and non teaching staff of SR&TC and PG students of DSST who have actively taken part in the programme. Later, Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Director (Seeds) briefed the gathering about the genesis of Parthenium weed in our country, present status, its noxious effects and the dire need to eradicate it from the farms with a well planned strategy. He urged the staff and students to keep their experimental plots and surroundings weed free to effectively suppress spread and propagation of Parthenium plants. The staff and students have pledged to make SR&TC a Parthenium-free campus.
