Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research and Registrar, PJTSAU has participated in the Inaugural Session of Elemental Analysis Services Workshop for South Asia at ICRISAT campus, Patancheruvu, Hyderabad on 12.08.2024, and presented a talk on the topic “Nutrition Relevance to SAUs”. During the presentation, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, highlighted the research carried out by PJTSAU in collaboration with Harvest Plus program of CGIAR since 2013 and explained about the traits of the biofortified bajra hybrid, PBH 1625 which possess more than 85 ppm of Iron and 41 ppm of Zinc developed by the University which was released in 2022 and notified by CVRC. He also mentioned about the research efforts in development of biofortified varieties of rice, millets, maize, oil seeds and pulses taken up at PJTSAU in collaboration with Harvest Plus, ICRISAT and ICAR through AICRPS. In addition, he also appreciated the efforts of CGIAR Harvest Plus in designing various research programs in collaboration with NARS and SAU partners to breed, develop and enhance adoption of Nutri dense cultivars among the smallholder farmers. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy also shared his rich experience and insights on the various designated topics presented by the invited speakers viz., Rajaguru Bohar, BRS, Dr. R.M. Sundaram, IIRR, Dr. Tara Satyavathi, IIMR and Dr. Matty Demont, IRRI and Drs. Wolfgang & Erick Boy.
