Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Field day on “HDPS Cotton” under special project on Cotton, ICAR-CICR titled “Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones-large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton Productivity” under NFSM 2024 at Korukondapalli village of Kesamudram Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 04-11-2024 in the field of Sri N. Rajaiah, who had sown variety of RCH-929 with spacing of 90 x15 cm. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about criteria of selecting varieties of hybrids for HDPS Cotton, Canopy management, CICR Cotton special project objectives, district target and achievement in HDPS Cotton. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) explained Importance of HDPS Cotton, weed management, nutrient management, importance of Cotton stalk shredding using cotton shredder, He also explained about IPM practices for Chilli crop in the current situation and different Paddy and Greengram varieties suitable for Yasangi season. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained, importance of machine sowing (Pneumatic planter) in HDPS Cotton, success stories in HDPS Cotton in Mahabubabad since two years, Canopy management, HDPS Cotton benefits including increased plant population, uniform boll bursting and quality of kappas and effective management of pink boll worm. Sri N. Rajaiah farmer explained about his experiences on HDPS Cotton, related to sowing time, fertilizer application, expected yield and net return, in this programme 60 farmers from Korukondapalli, Venkatagiri and Alankanipeta villagers participated.
