Production technology of major Agri & Horticultural crops on 05-10-2021 at Agricultural College, Jagtial
One day Training programme on “Production technology of major Agri & Horticultural crops” was organized at Agricultural College, Jagtial on 05.10.2021 with the financial assistance from ICAR under SC-Sub Plan scheme 2020-2021. Dr.S.Narender Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Jagtial inaugurated and addressed scheduled caste farmers about need for crop diversification and suggested the farmers to cultivate alternate crops to paddy during rabi season. Dr. K.B. Suneetha Devi, Senior Professor & Head (Agronomy) enlighten the farmer’s on alternate crops to paddy and technological advances in irrigation and fertigation in different crops. J.Thirupathi, Sarpanch (Gullapet) shared the farming experiences, and expressed the gratitude towards agricultural college for timely advises in their village through adopted village programme. Further, in technical session Dr. O.Sampath, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) addressed the farmers about nutrient management in major crops. Dr.N.Mahesh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) suggested alternate crops to paddy in rabi (yasangi) along with economics and seed availability details. Dr.G.Satyanarayana Reddy, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) created awareness on usage of different herbicides in major crops. Ms.Shobha Rathod, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) enlighten farmers about organic agriculture and its importance. Dr.M.R.Bhanusree and Dr.P.Arun Kumar Assistant Professor (Horticulture) delivered lectures on production technology of flower crops and vegetable crops respectively and visited vegetable production unit under polyhouse. Later, kitchen garden seed kits were distributed to the farmers. Scheduled caste farmers from Gullapet, Laxmipur and Sarangapur villages were participated in the programme.
